This is a picture and review of the Yoyofactory Protostar.
This yo-yo is one of my favorites, its nice feel, stability, and shape make it great for play, it also has a pretty good spin time. This is a polycarbonate plastic and is very bad for grinds because of its finish, but besides that, this yo-yo is extremely durable and can take many, many hits. I have not had any bad experiences with this yo-yo, no bearing locking up, no stripped axle, nothing. The Protostar is around the normal width and diameter and is pretty average when it comes to the rest of the specs. The Protostar is a great first unresponsive throw and will last you a very long time. This yo-yo was designed by John Ando and was his signature yo-yo. The Protostar is around 9 years old but in my opinion better than much newer models such as the Replay Pro. Overall this yo-yo is a great bang for your buck going for $20 on most yo-yo retailers and big online shopping services such as Amazon.
